Meet Serghei - an employee of PwC Netherlands’ Transactions and Capital Raising team who swapped Amsterdam for Vilnius for a 3-month adventure. Serghei was brought to Lithuania by PwC's STEP (Sustainable Talent Exchange Program) secondment. After spending the first month in Vilnius, Serghei shares his thoughts.
How did you decide to go for the STEP programme? Why did you choose PwC Lithuania?
I guess you could say that PwC Lithuania chose me as I was not planning on going on a secondment. However, my business unit leader brought the PwC LT STEP vacancy under my attention. As I have never been to Lithuania I thought: why not? Haven't regretted that choice!
What are you excited about for this adventure?
Meeting new people, getting out of your comfort zone and learning more about Lithuania and its culture.
It has already been a month in Vilnius - how do you like the city, the people?
So far I am quite excited. This is my first time in Vilnius but the city and its people have positively surprised me. Even though it's a smaller city I still have the feeling that after 1 month I am still not done exploring, which makes it a lot of fun.
What are your first impressions about the PwC Lithuania team?
People and specifically my team are amazing. I am part of a smaller CMAAS team here, which makes the contact with your colleagues easier and more personal.
Would you recommend becoming a part of the STEP programme to your peers at PwC?
Definitely! I think the STEP programme is a great opportunity to get out there and explore new countries, people and ways of working.
