I think the biggest thing I have learned at PwC is how to turn complex tax matters into something clear and useful for other people. When I first joined as an intern, I was focused on finding the right answer. Over time, I realised that this is only part of the job. What really changed the way I work was learning how to explain difficult rules, laws and client situations in a way that others can easily understand. That skill has shaped how I approach almost every task today.
A lot of that came from the people around me. From the beginning, I felt that my managers and colleagues were genuinely interested in my growth. I learned a great deal from colleagues who shared their knowledge through internal lectures and daily work, especially during the tax foundation course at PwC’s Academy Latvia. Those sessions helped me connect theory with real client situations, which made the learning feel practical and immediate. My team leader and coach also played an important role by encouraging me, challenging me and helping me see my progress more clearly.
Right now, one thing I am still improving is confidence in an international environment. Training abroad and working closely with colleagues from across Europe helped me understand that growth is not only about technical knowledge. It is also about speaking up, starting conversations and trusting yourself. If I had to describe learning at PwC to someone thinking about joining, I would say this: you learn by doing, by asking, by listening and by slowly noticing that things which once felt difficult have become part of who you are professionally.
