During Covid time I was a student in the UK and this is the time that I decided that I want to comeback to Bulgaria after my graduation.
As a student I have heard a lot about PwC, but I didn't know that they have office in Bulgaria. Once I found out I immediately started following the job postings and once there was a suitable position for me, I applied.
After finishing my studies I joined PwC Bulgaria and started working in the Assurance Line of Service.
Now after 2 years I can say that the development opportunities provided by the firm and the good environment justify the fact that I made the right choice to come back.
Returning to Bulgaria after nearly a decade of studying in the UK and working for PwC has been a deeply rewarding journey, one that I am grateful for.
My decision was fueled by my desire to be closer to my family, friends, and my love of the homeland. Despite the fear of the unknown, my transition has proven to be a delightful surprise.
PwC Bulgaria not only provided a familiar professional and cultural environment but also made me part of the exciting growth and prospects in the country.
After three years of studying in the UK, I returned to Bulgaria and joined PwC in 2013. My initial years here were marked by substantial growth and lasting friendships.
Seeking new challenges, I moved to PwC New Zealand in 2017, where I spent two enriching years. This experience honed my professional skills and fostered personal growth.
In 2019, I returned to PwC Bulgaria, bringing with me a global perspective and valuable insights from working with diverse clients and industries. These experiences equip me to deliver enhanced outcomes and drive impactful results in my current role.
I have always wanted to go back to Bulgaria at some point, but in my 20s I was enjoying life in London too much to consider it seriously.
After ten years at PwC UK (and three years at the University of Warwick beforehand), I thought that the time was right. As Covid forced us to start working remotely, I was able to find an opportunity to build a new team at PwC Bulgaria that collaborates with my old team in London.
We did two pilot projects to prove that this model worked, and, shortly afterwards, I returned to Bulgaria. My team currently employs mainly people like me who have studied and worked abroad. Join us!
Transitioning from a successful career in PwC UK post receiving a BSc in Business Computing & IT to pursue new avenues in Bulgaria has been an exhilarating journey back to my roots.
